About
In 1959, two young entrepreneurs moved to the United States from the Netherlands in search of living the American dream. After working for multiple companies, Gus and Chris decided they wanted to start their own business doing the thing they were passionate about, Cycling. In 1973, Gus and Chris Baanders opened up their first bicycle shop turning into a successful business devoted to professionalism and expertise. After changing ownership and 18 years later, Midwest Cyclery is back in the family. May 2015, Bob and Christina Baanders-Decker continue the same values as Gus and Chris did back in the beginning.
